We got lucky and were able to make a reservation for dinner just a few hours before. The staff quickly seated us and took our order. We ordered the white coffee, water fern dumplings, the savory crepes, mini coconut cakes, and shaken beef. The shaken beef was delicious and tender. The sauce was flavorful and sour. I also really liked the mini coconut cakes. I was not a fan of the savory crepes because the pork, shrimp, and bean sprouts were not very flavorful. The lettuce wrap diluted the taste even more. The dumplings were also not very tasty. They had a really nice and crunchy texture because of the pork crackling and fried shallots, but the strongest flavor was actually the rice cake. Both of these dishes definitely rely on the fish sauce for flavor. Overall it was a solid experience, but the food was not the tastiest and was on the expensive side.

I celebrated my birthday here and had a wonderful time! The service was wonderful and the food was great :) We had a large party and ordered most things off their menu and loved it all! There is only one photo because we ate so quickly whenever a new dish was set down😂 The staff was extremely accommodating, and I hope to come back soon.

Verdict: Meh Went here based off of last the NY times recommendation. I don’t know but the food was very, very average and lacks the freshness and authenticity of other vietnamese restaurants around Philly. I cannot recommend and probably wouldn’t try again until they overhaul.

Bring cash!! 5% off if paid in cash!! Different than what usual Vietnamese places offer (pho, bahn mi, spring roll). Many guests were "dressed up" but personally it's a bit tight with concrete walls for that. More of a casual vibe with affordable street eats. Fern dumplings - good value but tricky to eat Crepes - mostly egg and little filling Brussel sprouts - pretty good actually seafood fried rice - well it's fried rice

The food is highly authentic. Im from Houston, arguably the capital of Vietnamese food in the US. So trust me when I say this is authentic. I dont know what other reviewers are talking about saying this place is not authentic. My gf is from Danang and she even said it’s better than food in Houston. We had the bánh xèo, bánh bèo and the fish hot pot. It was all delicious like the motherland. Im highly surprised there’s such an authentic Vietnamese experience in this neighborhood

On Saturday, the restaurant opens at 5pm. We ordered the seafood fried rice, mini coconut shrimp cakes, shaken beef, and another dish that comes in a set of small plates. For dessert, we had flan & banana bread. The only dish that I liked was the shaken beef (bo luc'lac), but it does NOT come with rice when it should. The seafood fried rice was salty and the rest has little flavor. People keep saying in their reviews that this place is "fantastic" or "authentic"; I couldn't sync or relate to with this hyper-perspective. The service is quick & outstanding and the atmospherereminds me of a tapas bar in Bari Gotic in Barcelona. The meal leans on the expensive side for a rather small to average portion. The experience for me is nothing beyond a passing novelty.

I am not really sure where to start with this review. Based on our experience, it’s possible the restaurant is struggling. The prices you pay and portions of food you get don’t add up. We ordered wings which was supposed to be tossed in a garlic soy sauce and yet there was barely any sauce on it… they did give us about a teaspoon of sauce at the bottom of the plate though. The fried rice also came out very small — the taste was just bland; when we ordered shaking beef it was the same small serving and not a whole lot of flavor. We ordered tea and it was extremely watery. We let it sit for a while hoping it will steep and give more of an enjoyable drink but no. They seemed understaffed so my only guess is that they hiked up prices and reduced portions in hopes of increasing profit. This would work great if they didn’t sacrifice the actual flavors of their dishes in the process. Nonetheless, best of luck.
